De-shedding Spa Treatment — Cat Grooming Greenvale
A targeted de-shedding spa using high-velocity rinse, conditioning soak and undercoat tools — removes 60-70% of loose fur, drastically reduces shedding for 4-6 weeks.
Who is the De-shedding Spa Treatment for?
Heavy-shedding cats — Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest, Persian, Ragdoll, Russian Blue, Siberian, plus any double-coated cat coming out of winter.
About the De-shedding Spa Treatment
Cat shedding is not just an aesthetic problem — it is the leading cause of indoor allergens, hairballs, and home-cleaning fatigue. The Velvet Paws De-shedding Spa is a non-clipping treatment designed to remove the dead undercoat that ordinary brushing leaves behind. After one session most owners report 60-70% less hair around the home for 4-6 weeks.
The treatment uses a multi-stage process: a clarifying shampoo to release dead fur, a deep-penetrating conditioning soak, a high-velocity rinse and forced-air dry that physically lifts loose undercoat, and finishing tools that pull dead coat without damaging the live guard hairs. We do not use hot blade clippers anywhere on the body — your cat keeps full coat length and natural appearance.
This service is ideal for owners with allergies, families with babies on the floor, households expecting visitors, and cats whose owners simply find the daily brushing battle too much. We recommend de-shedding spa every 6-10 weeks for double-coated breeds, and seasonally (spring and autumn coat-changes) for shorter-haired cats.

De-shedding Spa Treatment — Frequently Asked Questions
Will my cat lose any visible coat length?
No. The de-shedding spa removes only dead undercoat. Your cat's natural coat length and appearance are unchanged — they often look fluffier afterwards because the live coat lifts properly.
Can short-haired cats benefit from de-shedding?
Yes, particularly Russian Blues, British Shorthairs and Bengals during seasonal coat-changes. Short-haired cats shed too — just less visibly.
Is this enough on its own or do I need a clip?
For most cats, de-shedding alone is enough — especially if you brush at home. If matting is starting to form, a Lion Cut may be a better choice. We will assess on arrival and let you know honestly.
My cat has allergies — is this safe?
We use feline-safe, fragrance-controlled shampoos. If your cat has a known skin sensitivity, mention it when booking and we will substitute a hypoallergenic product.
How often should I rebook?
Every 6-10 weeks for heavy shedders, every 12 weeks for moderate shedders, or seasonally (spring and autumn coat changes) for short-haired cats.
