Cat Grooming Melbourne CBD 3000
Melbourne CBD residents drive about 30 minutes via CityLink and the Tullamarine Freeway to reach our Greenvale studio. While the distance is the longest of our regular catchment, CBD cat owners often book combined with airport pickup/drop-off (Tullamarine is 5 minutes from us) or weekend errands in Melbourne's north. We are also a popular choice for CBD residents whose cats came from international moves and have unusual breeds requiring specialist grooming.
Why Melbourne CBD cat owners choose Velvet Paws
CBD apartment cats often arrive with overgrown nails, light matting from limited brushing access, and stress from carrier transport longer than they are used to. Our anaesthesia-free, vet-trained approach means even cats who 'do not travel well' usually settle quickly. The 30-minute trip is offset by appointments that run on time and a calm cat-only environment that does not exist in any CBD pet store.
About cat grooming for Melbourne CBD residents
Melbourne CBD apartment cat ownership is a recent and rapidly growing segment. Indoor-only apartment cats often miss the natural nail wear of climbing trees or fences and need more frequent professional grooming — particularly nail trims and de-shedding. Many CBD owners are professionals balancing work and pet care without the time or space for at-home grooming.

Is 30 minutes too far for a CBD cat?
It is the longest drive in our regular catchment. Most CBD customers come once every 2-3 months for de-shedding or full grooms — the trip becomes a routine, and pairs well with airport errands or weekend trips north.
Can I do a same-day return trip from the CBD?
Yes. Drop off, drive back to the city, return for pickup 1-2 hours later. We text when your cat is ready.
My apartment cat has never been outside — is the trip safe?
Yes, in a secure carrier. Make sure the carrier is escape-proof. Cover with a light cloth to reduce visual stimulation. The carrier should never be unlatched in the car.
Are there no closer cat groomers in the CBD?
There are pet stores in CBD and inner suburbs. None we know of are vet-trained with a dedicated cat-only studio. CBD apartment owners specifically tell us the difference is worth the drive.
Can I park easily at the studio?
Free street parking directly outside on Milestone Street. Much easier than parking in the CBD.
30 minutes from our Docklands apartment, but we make the drive every two months. Our two indoor-only Persians actually like the visit now. — Local customer feedback
